Hi, I'm Elodie
I’m a French ceramicist living in New Zealand, and the person behind Noïa.
I discovered ceramics when my youngest son was two. At first, it was simply a space for myself — a few hours to make something with my hands, away from the rhythm of everyday life. It didn’t stay simple for very long.
I’ve always needed to create, but clay became something else entirely. I fell in love with the endless possibilities of it: learning a new technique, testing an idea, making mistakes, starting again. There is always something more to explore.
Today, I make every Noïa piece by hand. I love organic shapes, visible marks and the small irregularities that make a piece feel alive. Nothing is meant to be perfectly identical.
Noïa has grown slowly alongside me, one piece at a time, and that’s exactly how I want it to stay.
